Mountain Rabbits & Denis Stream Hike, Sunday, July 19, 2009

Sunday morning Tilley and I hiked up
Greenlaw Mountain in Bayside to see the sunrise.
It was foggy when we arrived on top.

I had planned on that. The weather forecast had predicted, fog in the early morning, but clearing between 5;00 and 6:00. That meant it should clear shortly before, or shortly after the sunrise.

However, when it hadn't cleared by 6:30, Tilley and I headed down the mountain.

On the way down, Tilley bounded into the woods after something. A few minutes later a rabbit ran across the trail in front of me. Tilley wasn't far behind.

A little while later I caught sight of a rabbit in a nearby field.

I'm not sure if it was the same on Tilley was chasing. or not.

Finally Tilley showed up, and around 7:20 we were in the car heading home. I decided to go home by way of the 170, Oak Haven Road, and the Ledge Road, in case the sun broke out on the way. It did as we were coming down Crocker Hill, so I decided to take a quick hike up to the rapids a Denis stream.

Denis stream.
Crocker Island.

Tilly and I followed the trail, till we came to the rapids.

We headed further up stream.

Tilley Decided it was time for a swim.

At 8:10 we headed home.
